So I'm finally done done. There was still some nit-picky detail work to do on the dissertation before I turned it in, and it was way more time-consuming than I'd expected. I've been kind of scattered this week, I suppose. I haven't been able to concentrate very easily, other than on going over my preps for teaching and re-reading the relevant material. Getting to the end of the grading. People did impressively well on the final, which I probably made too hard. I threw out a few questions or gave credit for more than one answer when I saw that the wording was being taken a different way by people, but I'm still impressed. The students seemed to be having a largely uniform positive reaction to reading Julian of Norwich - those that did the first reading: I had an abnormally large number not do the reading, resulting in an abnormal amount of absurd answers to their quiz question on the material - and I was pleased to see how they were running with the material.
